I can’t bring myself to call this project a backsplash so I’m calling

it an “artsplash.” Over four months in the making, this mosaic of a meandering vine features about a dozen types of fruit. The smalti sits above the porcelain tiles creating

a three-dimensional effect. And a surprise awaits the next person who decides to clean behind the fridge as three bottles of Budweiser await to be plucked from the vine.
